John Montoya is a filmmaker, educator and visual poet. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Leandro Felipe Montoya and Ramona Cortez in 1963. At the age of ten his family moved to Lancaster, California when his father was transferred to Edwards Air Force Base.
