1941 year. Peter is a simple teacher in a small village. He considers himself out of politics and is sure: if you behave quietly and do not contradict the authorities, you will not be touched. But soon everything is changing. After a fierce battle, the Red Army retreats, and the Germans come to the village. Occupants impose curfews, weapons and ammunition are ordered to surrender under the threat of execution. And then a tragedy happens in Peter's family. And the peace-loving teacher of mathematics picks up an old rifle hidden from the Germans ...
