Is there life after death? There certainly seems to be for Mabel Lederer. Her husband, Hughie, has passed on and with him goes Mabel Lederer. For Mabel reinvents herself with a new name, a new town and undertakes a slightly off-center new profession: "I dabble in the supernatural." This lovely adaptation of Shirley Jackson`s unfinished novel stars Estelle Parsons (BONNIE AND CLYDE), Sylvia Sidney (SUMMER WISHES, WINTER DREAMS) and a host of delightfully eccentric friends. A charming added attraction is the voice of deceased Hughie, portrayed by a famous popcorn celebrity (and Academy Award® favorite) "P.L. Newman."
