Regarded as one of the better films of early Ukrainian cinema and one of the more emotionally compelling dramas about the Civil War. Tasin made the film as a silent but a sound track was added to it after 1930. The hero of the story is Gordei Yaroshchuk, a simple train coachman and antirevolutionary.
