Claire centers on an eccentric young woman in her 20s living in Long Island with her aunt and teenage cousin. After becoming fed up with her lover, a married painter named Simon, Claire decides it's time to get married herself. She sets her sights on a man whom she barely knows, setting in motion an absurd and humiliating quest to find love, and a husband, but not necessarily in that order.
